If you'd looked up the cheapest round trip fare between New Orleans and Nashville yesterday, you would have found one for $118. Today, it's $138. But the fare hasn't really gone up. On flights like the relatively short nonstop to Nashville it's a small difference, but for years people have been complaining about the sticker shock of seeing fares to Europe more than double when the additional fees get added in. So, as Martha would say, "It's a good thing."
