Author/Illustrator at the Library
The East Baton Rouge Parish Library's annual Author/Illustrator Program affords an opportunity for the exchange of ideas with prominent writers, artists, scholars, and performers of literature for children and young adults. This year, the thirty-seventh annual program will feature world-renowned author Katherine Paterson, author of Bridge to Terabithia and winner of the Newbery Medal and National Book Award. Paterson will be talking about writing for a young audience, her writing process and more during an evening program to launch the Author/Illustrator event at 7:30 pm tonight. On Friday, Paterson will lead a half-day workshop from 8 am–1 pm, and registration is required. Afterwards comes a question-and-answer session followed by an autograph session, and books by the author will be sold. Both events take place at the new Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Boulevard. Register online at ebrpl.com or by calling (225) 231-3760.
