Journalist Gwen Thompkins, host of Music Inside Out and, will discuss the legacy of jazz performer and raconteur Danny Barker at Algiers Point's Hubbell Library's monthly Author Night. Interest in Barker's career has been reignited with the issue of an expanded, illustrated edition of his autobiography last year by the Historic New Orleans Collection. Thompkins provided the introduction to the new edition, and will be an excellent guide to the work and career of this fondly remembered musician. Free. 6:30 pm. 725 Pelican Ave. hubbelllibrary.org.
