In the new Manship on the Move initiative, the Manship Theatre expands its popular programming beyond its Lafayette Street home in downtown Baton Rouge. For the first installment, the theatre presents acclaimed organist Cameron Carpenter at the St. Joseph's Cathedral. Carpenter, whose musical approach might be described as "organic," holds the honor of the first organist to be nominated for a Grammy Award for his solo album. He got his start performing Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier at age eleven and received a master's degree from The Juilliard School in 2006. The Los Angeles Times champions him as “one of the rare musicians who changes the game of his instrument… He is a smasher of cultural and classical music taboos." 7 pm at 412 North Street. $25.
