The North Pole and the only winter wonderland a Louisiana tike will likely get to see will be recreated this year at the Children's Museum of Acadiana. Candy Cane Lane, housed in the Cypress Gallery, is an extraordinary collection of items from the collectibles company, Department 56. Items for the exhibit are from the company's North Pole Series and are donated by Dr. Patricia Cran, Dr. Ronald Daigle, and the family of Jada Broussard and will be on exhibit until February 28. Together, these family collections represent one of the largest collections of North Pole collectables in the South. On December 15, the Museum will also hold its special Peppermint Tea event when children will sit for delicious treats and burn it all off during designated play time. Tea tickets are $35 and must be purchased in advance; two seatings: 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm. 201 East Congress Street.
