Many avenues exist for celebrating the Godfather of Soul (some as simple as shaking your moneymaker), but few as rare as the chance to appear in a motion picture! Universal Studios is hosting a casting call for actors, musicians, and extras to appear in a film about the life and times of James Brown. The film, which will stretch from Brown's impoverished childhood to his eventual superstardom, will begin shooting in Natchez in November, helmed by Tate Taylor, Oscar-nominated director of The Help.
Period hairstyles and musical talent? A plus, but not a requirement. It looks like Papa's Got a Brand New Film...and you could be in it. 11 am–4:30 pm at Old City Auditorium, 207 Jefferson. Bring a current, non-returnable photo. Those unable to attend the open call may email a current photo, along with email, phone number, height, weight, and availability to firstname.lastname@example.org.
