Celebration in the Oaks
Celebration in the Oaks in City Park, the beloved and, judging by the crowds, exceptionally popular holiday lights festival, will light up the sky starting on November 25. Thousands of visitors pour into the largest park in New Orleans to see the magical winter spectacle, for which the park’s famous oaks are swathed in hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights across its twenty-five acres, including the Botanical Garden, Storyland, Carousel Gardens, and, of course, the train. The lights last until January 1. Sunday–Thursday from 6 pm–10 pm; Friday and Saturday from 6 pm–11 pm, closed November 27–30, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve. $9 admission; children under 3 and Friends of City Park get in free. jlacour@nocp.org or neworleanscitypark.com/celebration-in-the-oaks.
