Audubon State Historic Site - comprised of circa 1806 Oakley Plantation and surrounding woodland - hosts this park-ranger-led exploration of the impact of the Civil War on the home front in Louisiana. The program will introduce some of the substitutions enterprising residents developed for the foods, dyes, medicines, and social activities rendered scarce by wartime. The program will be held within the park's Visitor Center and all activities will be ongoing. 1 pm - 3 pm at 11788 Highway 965. Free with admission fee ($8 adults, $4 children). (225) 635-3739.
