The time is ripe for adding "sesquicentennial" to your vocabulary! Let's use it in a sentence: "150 years have passed since the Civil War, so let's throw a sesquicentennial!" You get the idea. As part of its ongoing commemoration, the West Baton Rouge Museum is hosting a display of memorabilia from films with Civil War scenes shot in Louisiana, including Beautiful Creatures, Jonah Hex, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, The Undefeated, Band of Angels, North and South: Book II, Reconstruction, Horse Soldiers, Convicts, The Beguiled, Jezebel, Louisiana, and Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman. The exhibit will include photos, video clips, and original artifacts from all of these movies and more. The exhibit runs until January 12 at 845 North Jefferson Avenue.
