The Baton Rouge American Italian Association wants to make you an offer you can't refuse. Their annual Columbus Day Festa brings all sorts of red, white and green escapades at the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino Hotel Atrium on this October Sunday. They include a vino stroll, Little Italy shopping village, presentation of Italian maids, St. Joseph's Altar exhibit, and Italian genealogy research station. Add bocce games, a celebrity pizza-eating contest, Italian American marchers and music by the New Orleans Express Band and you've got a lot to look forward to. Want more? Get your tickets for Saturday night's "Evening in Rome" dance and dinner buffet from 7 pm–11 pm, with a special hotel-room/dance/festa package deal for sensible souls who would rather not drive anywhere. Sunday's Festa hours are 11 am–5 pm. www.gbraia.org.
