New Venture Theater brings the Broadway hit Dreamgirls to the Manship stage for a five-day run. The musical extravaganza recounts the story of a young female singing trio from Chicago, that gets its big break at an amateur competition and begins singing backup vocals for James "Thunder" Early. Egos are bruised, however, when their agent makes Deena, and not Effie, the star of what will become known as The Dreams.
