February Films at the Manship
From surrealism to spoof and more this month at the Manship Theatre

Each month, the Manship Theatre offers a slate of films, from modern classics to engaging new documentaries. Here's what's in store for February:
February 8: Black Orpheus (1959): The Oscar winning retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth, set during the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Inspired by West Baton Rouge Museum's Creoles du Monde exhibit. $9.50; 7pm.
February 15: Surreal Film Showcase with The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988): The evening will open with a short film from renowned special effects pioneer Georges Méliès followed by a screening of the Terry Gilliam classic back on the big screen. Inspired by LSU Museum of Art's exhibit Bonjour | Au Revoir Surréalisme. $9.50; 7pm.
February 16: Spoof Night! with Road House: Baton Rouge's Family Dinner Comedy Troupe heads to the lawless backwoods of Missouri to take closer look at this absolute staple in the Bouncer Movie genre. $11; 7:30pm.
February 18: The Florida Project (2017): Set over one summer, the film follows precocious 6-year-old Moonee as she courts mischief and adventure with her ragtag playmates and bonds with her rebellious but caring mother, all while living in the shadows of Disney World. $6.50; 2pm.
