The 5th Annual Foundations of Pointe Coupée Community Series forum will be held today at the historic Julien Poydras Museum and Arts Center auditorium. Explore the remarkable journey of early Creole families from Nouvelle France to Pointe Coupée from 1608 to the 1740s. The parish’s Creole foundations trace to some of the oldest founding families of North America hailing from Quebec, Montreal, the Illinois Country, and New Orleans. History will come alive as descendant Judith Rabalais Scola shares the discoveries of her meticulous research.
