Brought to Oakley Plantation in West Feliciana Parish to tutor the young daughter of the plantation's mistress, John James Audubon only stayed in Louisiana for four months. But it was during his stay that he produced thirty-two of his most popular bird pictures. Daniel Wilcox, Oakley House Park Ranger, will present a lecture on the famous artist called "John James Audubon's Time in Louisiana;" the event is part of the Foundation for Historical Louisiana's lecture series. 6 pm refreshments followed by the 6:30 pm lecture.
