The LSU Hilltop Arboretum's fall two-day camp is designed for budding gardeners, ages seven to ten. Children will get their hands dirty right away by learning how soil and water are important to plants and all living things. Students can expect lots of hands-on projects in garden design and field trips to explore the world of insects. Louisiana Master Gardeners and Junior League of Baton Rouge volunteers have been working together to prepare the activity centers and guarantee the children will grow a green thumb and have fun doing it.
Register early, space is limited and fills up quickly. 9 am–1 pm at 11855 Highland Road. $50 members; $85 non-members. (225) 767-6916 or lsu.edu/hilltop.
