Le Cajun French Music Fest and Awards
Billed as The Grammys of Cajun music, Le Cajun Awards recognizes outstanding talent in a world where fiddlers and accordionists reign. It stands to reason, then, that the Friday evening awards ceremony bestows titles such as best fiddler and best accordionist, along with best band, best recording, and many other uniquely Cajun superlatives. Hosted by the Cajun French Music Association, the non-profit founded by Cajun musical godfather Harry LaFleur, the three-day event also includes a Saturday music festival. Rayne Civic Center, 210 Frog Festival Drive. (337) 344-2494 or cajunfrenchmusic.org for details.
