The second installment of 2017's series of East Baton Rouge Master Gardener talks centers around spring vegetables and azaleas. This talk takes place at Fairwood Branch Library.
The first presentation, Growing Spring Vegetables, walks homeowners through the process of preparing and maintaining a successful spring garden. Advice on soil preparation, plant selection, irrigation, and pest control will be offered.
The second presentation, Azaleas:The Queen of the Southern Landscape reviews the wide variety of old and new cultivars that add color and texture to Louisiana gardens, including re-blooming and dwarf varieties, as well those that tolerate different levels of sun exposure. Advice on azalea selection, planting, care, and pruning will be provided.
