Merrill Lynch Open Brings Pro Golf to Town
Benefiting the good works of the Mary Bird Perkins—OLOL Cancer Center, the 2015 Merrill Lynch Open is teeing off in a whole new location this year. The capital region's only professional tournament, which has been held in Baton Rouge for many years, is moving to The Bluffs Golf Resort, where participants will putt in pursuit of the highest guaranteed purse on the Adams Pro Tour—$125,000. An event that offers golf fans front-row spectator access to exceptional quality play, this event attracts some of the pro tour's most promising young rising stars. “Among the many players who successfully graduated from the Adams Pro Tour to the PGA Tour are Dawie Van Der Walt and Brice Garnett, who earned their first ever professional win in Baton Rouge in 2008 and 2010, respectively," said Adams Pro Tour president Gary DeSerrano. “Come out and watch some of the future stars on the PGA Tour."
