Monk Run

The 2019 edition of the ever-popular Monk Run makes a triumphant return to the beautiful Saint Joseph Abbey grounds. The annual one-mile and 5K trail runs take place Saturday at Saint Joseph Abbey, north of Covington. This year’s one-mile race begins at 8 am with the 5K race at 8:30. Pre-registration is $30, or $15 for ages 16 and younger. Day-of registration is $30, or $15 for ages 16 and younger. Hand-made awards from the Abbey monks will be given in several categories and age groups. Runners are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket for a post-race celebration, featuring local food, refreshments, and beverages from Abita Brewing Company. Register online at getmeregistered.com/monkrun2019.
