Open Hearth at Oakley
Finally, the weather is right for a program illustrating life in the kitchens of Oakley Plantation before the Civil War. Audubon State Historic Site presents a day-long exhibition of cooking styles, and foods that would have been prepared on the plantation during the early 1800s. Many of the original recipes from the plantation will be on hand for visitors to taste. 10 am–4 pm at 11788 Highway 965. Included in the admission fee. (225) 635-3739.
