If there was ever a month to explore Louisiana's waterways, August is it. Lafayette's Pack & Paddle offers a variety of adventures this month to popular paddling destinations.
⢠August 3 - Paddle the Waters of Lake Chicot: Stacey Scarce will guide paddlers on the loop route of this clear and natural lake. With visions of Louisiana's wildlife dancing through their heads, paddlers will end the day with a picnic supper (provided). If you like Lake Martin, you will love this trip.
⢠August 7 - Intro to Stand up Paddle Boarding: Kayaking? Check. Canoeing? Check. Paddle boarding? No worries; there's a class for that. Stand up paddle boarding (SUP), or in the Hawaiian language Hoe he'e nalu, is an emerging global sport with a Hawaiian heritage. The sport gives the paddler a higher viewpoint, a strong 'core' workout, and a fun new way to explore our waterways.
⢠August 24 - Sunrise Paddle & Brunch at Lake Martin: See Lake Martin come to life as the sun rises over the eastern shore of the Lake. You'll witness the birds beginning to sing, the swallows swooping over the water in search of insects, and the trees morphing from the blackish grey of dawn to the beautiful full colors of morning. After the paddle, you'll enjoy a special brunch lakeside prepared by your guide, Stacey.Â
