Duck into the Thensted Center this evening for a poetry-filled night, courtesy of readings by Liz Burk and Kelly Clayton. Burk's poetry has appeared in The Southern Poetry Anthology: Louisiana, The Louisiana Review, and South Carolina Review, and her work has been performed at the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Arts and other venues in the New York area, where her psychology practice is located. Her chap book, “Learning to Love Louisiana,” (Yellow Flag Press) will be available for sale.
Kelly Clayton is a Louisiana Creole who moved home after twenty years in New York City. She is a published poet and full-time writer whose work has been published in many journals including Future Cycle Press, Delacorte Press, Gloom Cupboard, and The Dead Mule School of Southern Literacy.
