An elegant setting, more than 2500 works of art by Louisiana and regional artists, and the opportunity to support a compassionate New Orleans organization—that's what the annual Poydras Home Art Show & Patron Party has to offer. The three-day event brings works by acclaimed local and regional artists, a patron party, silent auction, food, drinks and entertainment, to the grounds of the continuing care retirement community on Magazine Street, from November 1—3. Serious collectors and casual enthusiasts will all find things to enjoy, with artwork filling both the historic home and the surrounding grounds. Offerings include hanging juried art and photography; oils, watercolors and acrylics; mixed media paintings; bronzes, wood, copper, clay and mixed media sculptures; ceramics, glass art, photography, jewelry and fine arts. Featured artists include glassblower Andrew Pollack, photographer Nat Fleck, painter and sculpture Anne Michael Pappas, and the winner of last year's juried competition, Michelle Lambert. A portion of sales benefits the non profit home.
Things begin with a patron party on Friday from 7 pm–9 pm ($100). The show is open to the public from 10 am–5 pm Saturday and noon–4 pm Sunday at 5354 Magazine Street. (504) 897-0535 or poydrashome.com.
