Ah, Long Beach—sand, seafood, and... radishes. Long Beach used to be considered the Radish Capital of the World until its signature variety, the Long Red radish, fell into disfavor. No matter! The third annual Radish Festival celebrates the town agricultural history with a line-up of local farmers, fishers, ranchers, and artisanal food producers from southern Mississippi. A farm tour will take foodies to visit sustainable and organic farms in the area, and there'll be cooking demos and tastings, handmade crafts, coffee roasting, bocce ball, book signings, live music, and guest speakers. Head to the town green, 301 Jeff Davis Avenue, for festival fun from 9 am until 6 pm. To sign up for the farm tour or to get additional details, call (228) 234-8732.
