The Rising
A picture is worth a thousand words, and the photographers who ended up in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina have many to share. The Rising, an exhibition at the Ogden, celebrates the renewal and re-birth of the city ten years after one of the worst disasters in American history and examines how art and photography were central to the revitalization of New Orleans. The Rising will highlight the photographic work of Sophie Lvoff, Jonathan Traviesa, and many more photographers who flocked to the city to document its revival. Opening reception will be on June 6 from 6 pm–8 pm, and the exhibit will be up through September 20. 925 Camp Street. ogdenmuseum.org or (504) 539-9650.
