The West Baton Rouge Museum's newest exhibition, "Rural Engineuity," looks at the innovation of farmers throughout the history of the rural south. Two of the Louisiana inventors featured are: Leonard Julien, who invented a sugar cane planting machine, and Allen Ramsey Wurtele, who invented a cane harvester and mechanized much of his farm.
