We would typically advise you to avoid anyone proffering snake oil, but in this case it sounds like it might be fun. This festival, in its third year, offers three nights of Americana performance disciplines, such as sideshow, burlesque, circus, live music, and comedy; as well as workshops with both local and international performers, including Queen of the Quake, Kitten de Ville; burlesque legend Val Valentine; the Pain Proof Princess, GoGo McGregor; the Renegade Showgirl, Angela Eve; comedian Corey Mack; Vaudevillian circus duo Batty and Sky; and dozens of performers from around the world. It all takes place at the Howlin' Wolf, 907 South Peters Street. snakeoilfestival.com.
