War of the Oars
It's a boat race, not a battle. But who can resist a near rhyme … and a chance to fall in the water?

The False River Paddle Club presents its sixth annual Southern War of the Oars. Folks of any age and skill level (well, probably not ANY, but most) should come down and register for one-mile, two-mile, or the 800-meter kids' kayak races. There's also an event intriguingly called the "YOLO Grande," (which would be a wonderful name for a novelty size of beer).
