Petite Antiques

Wednesday 30 January 2013Hits : 279

Alright, all you antiquarians. This one's for you. Organized by the Friends of Magnolia Mound Plantation, the thirteenth annual Petite Antiques Forum is an all-day affair, beginning with the keynote lecture at the Louisiana State Archives. Robert Leath of the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts will present "Many Hands, Many Voices: Two Centuries of Southern Furniture 1660–1860" at 9:30 am at the Archives, and then it's on to lunch just down the road at the Baton Rouge Country Club. In the afternoon, attendees will have the opportunity to visit two notable homes, full of collections and antique furnishings—Fr. Gerard Young's home in Darrow, and Perique, the home of Michael Hopping in Paulina.

9:30 am at 3851 Essen Lane. Proceeds go to Magnolia Mound Plantation's educational programming. $75 all-inclusive. (225) 271-4157 or friendsofmagnoliamound.org for tickets.
