For all you hardcore Carnival fanatics, join the Louisiana State Museum for two nights as they open the museum's impressive Carnival Collection for an exclusive behind-the-scenes viewing of historic costumes and other rarely seen artifacts. Wayne Phillips, curator of Costumes and Textiles for the Louisiana State Museum, will guide visitors through an in-depth, firsthand look at Carnivals of years past through a tour of the storage rooms of the State Museum—usually off limits to the general public. Hidden Treasures of the Louisiana State Museum: Carnival Edition takes place Tuesday and Thursday with tours at 6 pm and 7 pm at the Louisiana State Museum’s Collection Storage Facility, 1000 Chartres Street in the French Quarter. $25. $20 for members of the Friends of the Cabildo, Louisiana Museum Foundation, and Louisiana State Museum Friends in Baton Rouge.
