For artsy street parties, the Arts Council's annual Laurel Street Palooza is hard to beat. This thirteenth annual affair banishes traffic from downtown's Laurel Street and replaces it with lively bands and entertainment, a first-class silent auction and great food and spirits from around town. There's royalty, too: bow down before 2013 King Cary Saurage and Queen Ann Connelly—givers of time, talent, and resources to the local community. The music lineup includes The Michael Foster Project, Artemis, Kirk Holder, Righteous Buddha, and Ben Bell and the Stardust Boys. And restaurants across Baton Rouge from A(mbrosia Bakery) to Z(ea's Rotisseri & Grill) will be there, too.
