Hotel Mazarin will mark the anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans with a period dinner designed by Chef Agnes Bellet. "General Pakenham’s Final Supper" will be a five course feast featuring the tastes of 1812, such as a rabbit sausage, mirliton and cabbage slaw with creole mustard sauce; beef tenderloin mignonettes with a creole Bordelaise sauce; and calas cakes à la mode. Wine to wash it all down with, too. General Pakenham—the commander of the British North American army who was killed at the Battle of New Orleans—and Andrew Jackson will make special appearances during dinner.
