The Southeast Louisiana Refuge is offering a Cane Bayou canoe trip this month, entitled “Paddling Through Time: People & Louisiana’s Wetlands.” During the serene Saturday morning paddling trip, participants will learn how humans have interacted with and changed the land over time. Trips will include both the natural and cultural history of the area and an introduction to canoeing techniques. Open to ages five and up, though the trips are designed for adults. Each excursion will last two to three hours, beginning at 9 am. Canoes and necessary equipment will be provided. $10 adults; $5 children ages five to nine.
