A Trees and Trails Fun Hike is just the sort of thing that Mother Nature herself would suggest. During the Arbor Day celebration at the Burden Center, folks can hike, plant trees, sit in on presentations on trees and the environment, and embark on a tree scavenger hunt. Individuals who plant trees will be given certificates with GPS coordinates so that they can monitor their growth, and each family will receive a tree seedling to plant at home. Other activities will include a tree scavenger hunt along the trail, a visit with Smokey Bear, and presentations on the environment. Trail mix and water provided; it all adds up to a great day in the great outdoors. $5. 10 am–1 pm at 4560 Essen Lane. (225) 763-3990.
