QUARTET
(What Two People Should
Mean to Each Other)
Oil on Paper, 21” x 24.5”
by Glennray Tutor

Once one’s amazement at the astonishing precision in the photo-realistic work of Glennray Tutor has had time to sink in, the opportunity arises to contemplate how his depictions of the small artifacts of life can say profound things about the nature of our existence.
“Objects in my artwork, in addition to being items that affect me emotionally, are used metaphorically,” says Tutor. “This painting is a commentary on the beauty and profundity of human relationship.”
Which precisely is why we found it to be the perfect image to herald this issue, in which we explore the symbols and ceremonies of love.
