Jan Risher

Jan Risher grew up in the middle of Mississippi with a family full of storytellers. She eventually made her way to Louisiana—taking the long route to get there with stops in between in the mountains of Slovakia, a tribal village in Burkina Faso, the hills of central Mexico, Reno, Nevada, Washington, D.C., El Paso, Texas, and more. She's been a regular columnist for three newspapers and continues to write a Sunday column for Lafayette's Daily Advertiser. She is the former managing editor of The Times of Acadiana and has been a full-time teacher and owner of a public relations firm. She continues a freelance writing career, focusing primarily on business writing. She is co-author of Team Renaissance: The Art, Science and Politics of Great Teams. She is a graduate of Mississippi State University and makes her home in Lafayette with her husband and two daughters.
