Founded by Dr. William Williamson in Baton Rouge, the family-owned clinic has grown to be a leader in both ophthalmology and optometry. In 1983, Drs. Charles and William R. Williamson expanded their father’s vision of the clinic, opening Baton Rouge’s first outpatient surgery center dedicated to eye care.

Across its eight locations—from the River Parishes to Gonzales, Denham Springs, Baton Rouge, Zachary, New Roads and now St. Francisville, Williamson employs nineteen eye doctors and over 170 employees—many of whom have been with the company for twenty years or more.
Dr. Andrew Leto, who practices at St. Francisville’s new location, says that the scope and diversity of Williamson’s team sets it apart as one of the most versatile and high-quality eyecare practices in the region. “Our doctors all have different specialties and interests to make sure that everyone gets the care they need,” he said. “If I have a patient with a problem that I can’t fix, I know I will be able to send them to someone in our practice who will be able to help them. Having that team mentality truly makes us a unique practice that allows us to all work together to give the best care and service to every patient that walks through our doors.”
