Somewhere along the way, our society developed the idea that learning is reserved for the young. But while the imperative to educate new generations remains vital, it’s also important to remember that our ability to learn is a lifelong superpower. Our capacity for curiosity, creativity, and growth remain, far beyond our twenties.
The reality? Learning is much more than the act of preparing for the workforce. It is a recipe for enrichment, an avenue of experimentation, and a pathway to wonder—expanding not just what we know, but how we experience the world. This is the philosophy that lies at the heart of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at LSU.
OLLI at LSU invites Louisianans ages fifty and older to join a vibrant community of lifelong learners. Explore enrichment opportunities in literature, the arts, fitness, and more—ranging from history and introductory Spanish to watercolors and wine tasting—with options available both in-person and online. Courses are offered through four regional chapters: Felicianas (New Roads, Livonia, & St. Francisville), Lagniappe (Baton Rouge), Camellia City (Slidell and Covington), and Crescent City (New Orleans).
