“Lunch Bunches” bring members together each Friday at a different local restaurant. These gatherings provide a chance to catch up with familiar faces, meet new friends, and enjoy great conversation over a memorable meal.
Design a Miniature Garden at Baton Rouge Succulent Co.
On Thursday, September 3, the Lagniappe Chapter will hold a succulent garden workshop at Baton Rouge Succulent Co. at 7276 Highland Road. Participants will focus on designing a miniature cacti or succulent garden. The class will include a rundown of basic information and helpful tips on how to care for these plants. (Don’t have a green thumb? Have no fear! Cacti and succulents are some of the easiest plants to maintain.) 1 pm. $50 fee includes the cost of the plant, container and potting materials, and complimentary sangria will be served.
Unlock the Full Potential of the East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library
On Wednesday, September 9, the East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library on Goodwood will host an informative class entitled “Uncovering Secrets at the Library.” The afternoon session will introduce the many services accessible to library members (usually at no cost), and how to access them. There will be a detailed exploration of on-site resources such as 3D printing equipment, genealogy research and video digitization services. The goal of this class is to enable curious patrons to engage more fully with the various creative services (and classes) available to EBR residents through their library. The class begins at 2 pm, and participation is free, although all are invited to bring pastries or snacks to share. Coffee will be provided. 7711 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge.
