Movie Nights at the Manship
February 6: Ghetto Children
Part of the “Louisiana Made” film series presented by Louisiana Entertainment (a division of Louisiana Economic Development), this screening will showcase the work of New Orleans filmmaker Zac Manuel, who spent years documenting the lives of three young Black men in New Orleans, the sons of 1990s-early 2000s Southern rap superstars Juvenile, B.G., and Soulja Slim. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Manuel, presented by Films at the Manship. 7:30 pm. $12.50.
February 16–19: Oscar Nominated Shorts
In the lead-up to the Academy Awards taking place on March 2, catch these screenings of all the short films nominated for Oscars this season, and make your own predictions. Animated films will screen on Sunday at 2 pm, Live Action Monday at 7:30 pm, Documentary at 7:30 pm on Tuesday. $12.50.
February 26: Blade Runner
This 1982 science fiction cult classic returns to the big screen at the Manship for a one-night-only screening. See Harrison Ford in all his Replicant hunting (or loving) glory. 7:30 pm. $10.50.
February 28: Spoof Night: Pretty in Pink
Spoof Night is the Manship's popular series of interactive movie experiences presented by the Family Dinner Comedy Troupe. Shows feature live commentary, drinking games, and jokes to accompany the screening of beloved films. Tonight, it’s Pretty in Pink. Costumes are encouraged. 7:30 pm. $17.

Live Music at the Manship
February 10: The Glenn Miller Orchestra
Be transported to the era of swing with this performance by one of the most sought-after big bands on the circuit for the past seventy years—featuring their greatest hits including “In the Mood,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “Tuxedo Junction,” and more. 7 pm. $60–$70.
February 13: An Evening with Larry Carlton
Even those who are not familiar with the name Larry Carlton have surely heard his work. The four-time Grammy-winning guitarist and composer has made his mark as a studio musician on legendary recordings with artists like Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, and Michael Jackson. His solo career, at its height in the 1970s, is well-regarded in the legacies of jazz, blues, rock, and pop—even earning him a place on Hollywood’s Rockwalk. 7:30 pm. $50–$70.
February 15: Sweet Honey in the Rock
Formed in 1973 in Washington, D.C. this African American a cappella vocal ensemble has had waves as a celebration of Black history and female empowerment through song. With three Grammy awards under their belt, they are celebrating their November 2023 50th anniversary with a three-year tour across the nation, landing them tonight on the Manship stage. 7:30 pm. $55–$75.
February 20: River City Jazz Masters Presents Emmet Cohen
A child prodigy grown into a master of jazz piano, Emmet Cohen is a wonder to watch. In addition to his original compositions, he will also perform classics from legendary jazz musicians—part of his Masters Legacy Series project featuring recordings and interviews of living legends. This concert is presented by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge. 7:30 pm. $50–$65.
March 7: Rodney Crowell in Concert
Grammy-award-winning country musician and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer Rodney Crowell’s talents are still heard on the airways in songs by Alan Jackson, Keith Urban, and Tim McGraw. See him in this intimate concert presented by the Red Dragon Listening Room, and opened by Nashville newcomer Laurel Lewis. 7:30 pm. $70–$100.
March 19: Yellowjackets, featuring Kurt Elling
Formed in the late 1970s as backup for Robben Ford, and surviving Ford’s departure by creating something of their own—this jazz group has spent the past forty-plus years accumulating eighteen Grammy nominations (and two wins) and performing countless sold-out tours. For this special concert co-presented by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, they will be joined by acclaimed jazz vocalist Kurt Elling. 7:30 pm. $50–$65.
March 20: Damn Tall Buildings
This folk-bluegrass trio got their start in busking but were quickly drawn to the stage by their captivating energy, vocal harmonies, and resonant sound. They are known for warm, intimate performances that carry the audience through a musical journey. 7:30 pm. $30–$50.

February 8: Of Moving Colors presents Love Revolution
In this production of original choreography and inspiring performances presented by local dance organization Of Moving Colors, see student dancers from across Baton Rouge perform onstage with professionals. 4 pm. $20.
February 23–24: Moon Mouse: A Space Odyssey
In this fantastical, electroluminescent production by the innovative theater company Lightwire Theater, Marvin the mouse struggles to fit in—escaping instead into the world of science fiction and fantasy, where he embarks on the space adventure of a lifetime. 2 pm Sunday for general audiences; 11:30 am school show on Monday. $25.
March 23–24: Doktor Kaboom—Under Pressure
Doktor Kaboom, an impassioned scientist and performer, presents a new show exploring the scientific and emotional impacts of pressure. Using science magic and comedic commentary, this interactive show will leave kids curious about the way the world works and empowered to face life’s challenges. 2 pm Sunday for general audiences; 11:30 am school show on Monday. $25.
March 29–31: BODYTRAFFIC
Presented by the Pennington Family Foundation as a co-production between the Manship Theatre and Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre, this show brings modern dance company BODYTRAFFIC to the stage. Contemporary approaches meet the thrill of storytelling in BODYTRAFFIC’s choreography and approach to movement. 7:30 pm Saturday and 2 pm Sunday for general audiences; 11: 30 am school show on Monday. $40–$60.

The Manship’s 20th Anniversary Carpet Gala featuring Matteo Bocelli
On March 15, the Manship Theatre will celebrate its twentieth anniversary serving Baton Rouge with an exclusive, red carpet-style gala featuring special guest Matteo Bocelli. It’ll be an evening of glamour and creative community, with an extraordinary performance by the internationally-acclaimed Italian classical singer.
As the Manship’s only annual fundraiser, the gala will also provide vital funding that supports the organization’s continued outreach efforts—bringing world-class performances beyond just the stage, but also to local schools and nursing homes.
