The steak and egg dish at New Orleans's new restaurant, Charmant.
There’s a new bistro in Mid City, New Orleans, and they’re calling it “lovely.” Chef Chris Borges and his wife, sommelier Bonnie opened up the New Orleans-inspired European-style restaurant in November, and it’s since settled comfortably into the former home of MoPho. Infusing the comfort of a place you linger with Old World elegance, the fare includes dishes like croque madame, scallop crudo, and pork osso bucco arancini—all paired with selections from Bonnie’s carefully curated wine list. “Our goal was to build the kind of place we’d want in our own neighborhood, where you can stop in for brunch, a glass of wine after work, or linger over dinner with friends,” said Chef Borges. “Charmant captured that rhythm—casual by day, buzzing by night—with the kind of energy that feels uniquely New Orleans.” Learn more, or make reservations, at charmantnola.com.
