Ramen at Daruma Ramen in Baton Rouge.
Stacy and Danny Zheng, on the path to building an empire of Asian cuisine in the Greater Baton Rouge area, have just opened up their latest conquest in Mid City: Daruma Ramen. The second location for the popular ramen spot originally opened in Prairieville, Daruma will bring a selection of the noodle dish, in addition to hibachi and raw options, to Government Street. The Asian-American fusion restaurant will soon be hard to miss, with an Iron Man-esque statue of its mascot, “Daruma” (which refers to a Japanese good luck doll) standing out front. With its state-of-the-art karaoke room, Daruma also brings an exciting night life option to the popular strip. The Zhengs, who also own King Buffet on Bluebonnet, are currently working to introduce a new revolving sushi spot and a dim sum café to the Red Stick, too.
