Baton Rouge is soon to get a new riverside dining destination with an instantly recognizable namesake. A new concept by superstar Louisiana chef Emeril Lagasse, Emeril's Chophouse is on track to open in late September with a menu of fine-dining classics served with Southern hospitality, and the sophisticated Louisianan inflections that have kept Lagasse a culinary household name for decades. With sunset vistas courtesy of floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Mississippi River, Emeril’s Chophouse claims ambitions to redefine riparian dining in the capital city. Standout dishes include Emeril’s famous BBQ shrimp with a savory, buttery rosemary biscuit and the Gulf Tuna Oscar served with grilled asparagus, sweet, buttery blue crab and bearnaise sauce. Don’t be shy about adding extras to your dish–the menu offers a wide scope of choices for toppings and garnishes, including melted blue cheese, petite butter roasted lobster tail and a moreish, comforting bordelaise sauce.
