“Becoming Louisiana: Borders in Motion (1688–1812)”

To celebrate 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Nous (The New Orleans Foundation for Francophone Cultures) presents “Becoming Louisiana: Borders in Motion (1688–1812).” The exhibition use historical maps reimagined in line art to examine the historical forces that shaped Louisiana’s on its path to becoming part of the United States. Through the stories these images tell and the ones they omit, the maps encourage visitors interrogate Louisiana's winding journey to statehood through a new lens.
