LSU Hilltop Arboretum hosts an evening with Louisiana author and journalist Sam Irwin to explore the natural and cultural history of the crawfish. Irwin draws from his book, Louisiana Crawfish: A Succulent History of the Cajun Crustacean, which follows the iconic crustacean from the wetlands of the Atchafalaya Basin to its central role at the heart of Louisiana’s foodways, economy, and traditions. 6:30 pm–8 pm. $15; $10 for students and Hilltop members. lsu.edu/hilltop/index.php.
