“Stitches in Time: Quilts and Fashion”
to
LSU Textile & Costume Museum Human Ecology Building, Louisiana State University Tower and South Campus Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70803
Stitches in Time: Quilts & Fashion, on display at the LSU Textile & Costume Museum, studies the dialogue between dress and quilt making, exploring how fashion and this beloved crafting art form blend the boundaries of influence. The exhibition is made possible by a recent gift of a collection of garments by American designer and Louisianan, Geoffrey Beene, from Sylvia R. Karasu, MD, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine. Beene's designs highlight connections in color, technique, and historical moment in the nineteenth and twentieth century. lsu.edu/agriculture/textilemuseum.
