"Aftermath of World War I" Discussion Series
Ascension Parish Library – Gonzales 708 South Irma Boulevard, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737
Expose yourself to a closer look at how World War I really affected our world economically, socially, politically, and in the cases of individual human lives. Funded by a grant from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, the Ascension Parish Library is hosting a five-week reading and discussion series exploring the aftermath of World War I. Dr. Karl Roider, Alumni Professor Emeritus of Louisiana State University, will lead open discussions supported by the book Paris, 1919: Six Months that Changed the World, which is an historical narrative about the six months of negotiations that took place at the Paris Peace Conference after World War I.
The series meets on Tuesdays from November 5 through December 3 at 6 pm. Advance registration required at (225) 647-3955. Every reader receives a copy of the book, so a current library card is required. Free. myapl.org.
