Art of Food 2019
From palette to palate
Lamar Advertising Corporate Headquarters 5321 Corporate Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70808

Fransisco Diaz ("Pastel")
Created by Louisiana Public Broadcasting and Country Roads magazine, The Art of Food pairs a well-known Louisiana chef with renowned visual artists. The goal: to create a menu interpreting artwork into a series of unique dishes.
To be aired statewide on the LPB network, The Art of Food was created for LPB's Art Rocks! program, a visual and performing arts program focused on Louisiana culture, hosted by Country Roads magazine publisher James Fox-Smith.

This year's third annual showcase will feature internationally renowned muralist Francisco Diaz (aka Pastel), hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina. During his two week stay in Louisiana, Diaz will create a series of large-scale outdoor art installations in Baton Rouge and beyond. Brought in to interpret the environmental themes of Diaz's works, Jeffrey Hansell of OxLot 9 restaurant will present his own series of unique dishes to be served at the Art of Food dinner.
6 pm–9 pm on Wednesday, November 6 at Lamar Advertising Corporate Headquarters, Baton Rouge. $150 per person. Proceeds support the Friends of Louisiana Public Broadcasting. bontempstix.com.
