Leave the X-Men to the megaplex. Each month, the Manship Theatre offers a slate of films, from modern classics to engaging new documentaries and locally-produced stories. Here's what's in store:
August 7: Spoof Night! with Point Break: Are you that friend who prefers to roast the film you're watching than actually watch it? Then Spoof Night is for you. The Family Dinner Comedy Troupe presents an interactive movie experience in the Main Theater. Featuring the Keanu classic Point Break, expect running commentary and drinking games (and despite the name, no dinner). 7:30 pm. $11.
August 11: The Shining: Come on, you know it, "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Check in to the Overlook Hotel in the Stanley Kubrick/Stephen King classic. In the isolated hotel, Jack Nicholson stars as a writer and recovering alcoholic who descends into madness as his son is plagued by supernatural premonitions. 2 pm. $10:50.
