Southern cuisine, live music, competitions, vendors, and more are coming to the Main Library's Plaza for the annual Baton Rouge Soul Food Festival. The competition is open regional favorites from Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida, with categories including meats, vegetable and side dishes, breads and desserts, appetizers and soups, beverage and ices. 11 am–8 pm Saturday and Sunday. And don't miss the pre-party at Henry Turner, Jr.'s Listening Room on Thursday night, May 21, 7 pm–11:30 pm. $33 for the pre-party, but the festival is free; $108 for VIP tickets.
